Back in 2017, I bought a new gas furnace. Lennox was a good brand, once. Then the blower ECM went out and cost me $700 or so to fix in July 2021. On September 30, the furnace stopped sending heat again. It came with a 10-year parts warranty that lasts until May 2027, but the technician said it was the blower ECM again.
Instead of paying $1600 to fix it this time, I told him to replace the furnace like for like. He suggested Daikin, which has a 12-year parts warranty. The new company, Energy Works, doesn't sell Lennox. So a chilly house for a week, a bunch of money, and now I have a new Daikin furnace, 96% efficient like the last one. Installed October 6. Parts warranty runs until 10/6/2038.

Calling for inspection by the city is the homeowner's responsibility and I was surprised that the inspector could come out the very next day. He thought it was 100%.
